1. Will the NACS port increase charging time of our E-GMP models compared to the charging via CCS ports?
No, charging speed is a function of the vehicle and EV charger capability. NACS port vehicles can charge fastest on a 350kW / 1000V DC fast charger.
2. What’s happening to Hyundai’s relationship with Electrify America?
Electrify America remains a valued partner. Our goal is to make charging as simple and convenient as possible. Access to additional chargers is a win for our customers.
3. Will new Hyundais have both NACS and CCS ports? If so, for how long?
No. In the future, new and redesigned Hyundai models will only come with a NACS port.
4. Will Hyundai’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models be able to charge at Tesla Superchargers?
No. At present, this ability is limited to Hyundai EVs. Hyundai’s PHEV models use a different connector.
5. Will Hyundai models in other markers get CCS ports and access to Tesla’s Supercharger network?
We are always exploring all technologies to enhance our customers’ charging experience. At present, we can only confirm that the NACS will only be available in North America.
