Complimentary NACS Adapter Offer Q&A
Timing
1. When does the offer begin? End?
- The offer is available starting from April 16th, 2025 – May 30th, 2025.
- Eligible owners must redeem this offer by placing an order within sixty (60) days of receipt of the invitation to participate in this offer. Eligible owners have until May 23, 2025 to update their information on MyHyundai, including their email address and shipping address. Final redemption emails will be sent to eligible owners by May 30, 2025.
- Customers must have bought a Hyundai or Genesis EV before or on January 31st, 2025 to be eligible to take advantage of the offer.
- Adapters will be available to purchase in Hyundai and Genesis dealers on March 17th. Please reach out to your local dealer for cost and ordering information; the dealer’s selling price and final cost of the NACS adapter is completely up to the dealer as they have 100% discretion.

3. Am I eligible for the NACS adapter giveaway?
All current Hyundai and Genesis owners and lessees of an eligible EV with a retail date before or on January 31st, 2025 will be eligible to receive a NACS adapter.
4. Do I need to own or lease an EV to enter the giveaway?
Yes, you must currently own or lease an eligible Hyundai or Genesis EV to redeem your complimentary adapter. Prior owners or lessees will not be eligible.
5. Do I have to make an EV purchase or lease to qualify?
If you purchased or leased your EV after January 31st, 2025, you will be able to purchase a NACS adapter at your local dealer.
6. Can I enter my VIN multiple times?
No, the complimentary adapters are limited to one per VIN. Only the current owner or lessee of the EV will be eligible.
7. Is the 26MY KONA Electric included in the all-new or refreshed Hyundai EVs that will come exclusively with a NACS port, beginning in Q4 2024?
We have not announced when the KONA Electric will transition to the native NACS inlet.
8. Are Hyundai Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) owners eligible to receive the free adapter?
No, Hyundai PHEV owners and lessees are not included in this offer.
Giveaway Details
1. What type of EV charging adapter is being given away?
The NACS adapter can be used on Hyundai EVs with native CCS ports so that those vehicles can charge at NACS charging stations.
2. Will the legacy Hyundai EVs with CCS ports get adapters?
Current Hyundai EV owners and lessees with native CCS ports will have access to the NACS adapters in Q2 2025.
3. Are there different types of adapters being offered?
No, only the NACS adapters are being offered. Please contact your local dealer if you’re interested in purchasing a CCS or J1772 adapter, or if you are not eligible for the complimentary NACS adapter offer.
4. Does the customer have to order the adapter themselves?
No, customers need to ensure that their MyHyundai account is active and that they have registered their vehicle with their account. Customers will receive an email inviting them to redeem their adapter and confirm their mailing address. To redeem the offer, a customer needs to open the email, confirm their address is correct, and click the link to accept the terms and conditions of the offer and ship the adapter to the address in the email.
5. I did not receive my email. Is there any other way to redeem my adapter?
Please make sure you have a MyHyundai App account. If so, please check your spam and junk folders for the email. If you do not have a MyHyundai App account, once you’ve created a MyHyundai account, ensure you have opted into receiving email communications, you should receive the email with the next round of emails. Emails are sent in batches, Monday through Friday until May 30th, 2025. At this time, redemption is only conducted through the email invitation.
6. Is the adapter compatible with all EV models?
The NACS adapter is compatible with Hyundai models with a native CCS port. The adapter should never be used on any other electric vehicle of any other make.
7. When does this offer expire?
Final redemption emails will be sent to eligible owners by May 30, 2025.
Note: Eligible owners have until May 23, 2025 to update their information on MyHyundai, including their email address and shipping address.
8. Is there a warranty included with the adapter?
Yes, the adapters share your Hyundai EV’s 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty.
9. Will Hyundai charge for the adapter?
The adapters are complimentary for eligible owners and lessees that purchased their Hyundai EV on or before January 31, 2025. After March 17th, 2025 NACS adapters will be available at authorized Hyundai dealerships for purchase for customers who purchased their Hyundai EV after January 31st, 2025. Even though MSRP is $250, the dealer’s selling price and final cost of the NACS adapter is completely up to the dealer as they have 100% discretion.

Adapter Ordering Process
1. How do I enter the giveaway?
You must have an active MyHyundai account with up-do-date details on your current VIN in your MyHyundai account to enter. More details will be shared at the new year.
2. What are the steps to redeem the free adapter?
Customers need to ensure that their MyHyundai account is active and that they have registered their vehicle with their account. Customers will receive an email inviting them to redeem their adapter and confirm their mailing address. To redeem the offer, a customer needs to open the email, confirm their address is correct, and click the link to accept the terms and conditions of the offer and ship the adapter to the address in the email.
3. Do I need to provide any proof of EV ownership?
Yes, your customer contact information and VIN must be updated and correct in MyHyundai in order to redeem the complimentary adapter.
4. Can I enter on behalf of someone else?
No, you must be the primary driver and your customer contact information and VIN must match in MyHyundai before you can redeem the adapter.
5. I missed the deadline to opt-in for an adapter and I purchased a new EV, can I still get the complimentary adapter?
If you opted to receive communications from Hyundai, you should have been notified via email starting the week of April 11 regarding the opportunity to claim your adapter. Please note that this complimentary offer is only available to customers who purchased their Hyundai EV on or prior to January 31, 2025 and multiple reminders were sent as part of the outreach efforts. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate claims submitted after the, May 30, 2025 deadline.
6. I opted out of communication from Hyundai. Can I still receive the email notification?
No, you must be opted in for email communications in order to receive your email invitation. Please make sure you have created a MyHyundai App account and update your communication settings. Emails will be sent in batches Monday through Friday. Currently, redemption is only conducted through the email invitation.
7. When were the emails sent out?
Initial email notifications were sent beginning April 11, 2025. Reminder emails and emails to eligible customers who corrected their address or updated their contact status are sent out every week on Mondays.
8. I have received an email from TBD Epsilon email address, is this correct?
Email should include your name, address, and be from TBD address.
9. I have not received an email, but I am eligible.
Please search your spam folder. Is the email address the same address you have on MyHyundai? Did you update your contact information recently? If less than a week, please wait at least one week to receive the initial email. Please note that emails are being distributed in batches, with the timing determined by the most recent vehicle purchase date and whether the customer is an existing active MyHyundai user. If you fall within the current rollout criteria, you can expect to receive your email shortly.
Shipping & Delivery
1. How long will it take to receive the adapter?
Please expect up to 2 weeks or 10 business days to receive your adapter after receiving the email confirmation.
2. How do I know if my adapter has been redeemed?
You should receive a confirmation email that your complimentary adapter has been claimed.
3. Do I need to pick it up, or will it be shipped to me?
Your adapter will be shipped directly to the address on your MyHyundai or MyGenesis account. Please contact Customer Care to update your address if it is not accurate.
4. The adapter was sent to the wrong address. How do I get a new adapter?
You should have received a USPS tracking number when the adapter was shipped. Please follow up with USPS to determine the location of the shipped adapter.
5. I’m residing somewhere different from my mailing address; can I ship it to my other address? (in line of those moving or military – I moved and I’m no longer at the address where I had the adapter shipped to; or my son/daughter is the primary driver, but they reside somewhere else, can it be shipped to them directly?)
If you wish to update your mailing address to the address other than the one listed in your redemption email, you will need to log-into MyHyundai, update your account, and wait approximately one week for another invitation email to redeem your offer. The adapters may not be shipped to a P.O. box nor may they be shipped internationally.
6. What if the adapter doesn’t work with my EV?
Please contact Customer Care if your adapter is not compatible with your EV.
7. I redeemed the NACS adapter during the giveaway window and I haven’t received it after X-X weeks. Can I track the shipment?
You should have received an email with the shipment tracking information.
Additional FAQs
1. Are there any restrictions on the use of the adapter?
Incorrect usage of the adapter might cause damage to the charger, adapter, or vehicle. Only use this adapter with your Hyundai or Genesis electric vehicle.
2. What happens if I receive a defective adapter?
Please contact your local dealer to verify it is defective and submit for a warranty claim.
3. Would using third-party adapter affect the Hyundai new vehicle warranty?
HMA warranty will not cover damages caused by non-Hyundai accessories.
4. Can I use a Lectron adapter with my Hyundai?
No, but you can purchase a CCS adapter at your local dealer.
