Q: What is Hyundai Pay for In-App Charging?

A:  By using Hyundai Pay, you will be able to search for chargers, start, stop and pay for charging sessions for your Hyundai EV at most major charging operators.   This eliminates the need to use a separate app for each charging operator.

A: In-App Charging enables you to initiate charging while using the MyHyundai with Bluelink app to find chargers and start, stop, and pay for charging sessions for your Hyundai EV at most major charging operators.  This eliminates the need to use a separate app for each charging operator. 

Q: Where can I use Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: Hyundai Pay for Charging works in all 50 states, at IONNA, Tesla, Shell, ChargePoint, EVgo, EVConnect, and Flo stations. More networks, such as Blink and Electrify America will be added soon.

Q: Why doesn’t my vehicle work with Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: Hyundai Pay for Charging currently works with MY25 IONIQ5, MY25 IONIQ 5 N, MY25 Kona EV, and MY26 IONIQ 9. All future Hyundai EVs will be able to use Hyundai Pay for Charging, and previous MY Hyundai EVs will be able to use Hyundai Pay for Charging starting in Q2 of 2025.

Q: Why doesn’t my vehicle work with in-app-charging?

A: In-App Charging currently works with 2025 IONIQ5, and 2026 IONIQ 9. All future Hyundai EVs will be able to use In-App Charging, and previous model year Hyundai EVs will be able to use In-app-charging starting in Summer of 2025. 

A: 2025 IONIQ 5 N and 2025/2026 Kona EV will be able to use In-app-charging in late May.  

Q: When will my vehicle be able to use Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: Drivers of all other EVs will be able to use Hyundai Pay for Charging after their Hyundai receives an over-the-air update in the second quarter of 2025.

Q: When will my vehicle be able to use in-app-charging? 

A: Drivers of Hyundai Kona Electric, Ioniq Electric, IONIQ 5 N and Genesis GV70 EV and G80 EV will be able to use in-app-charging after their Hyundai or Genesis receives an over-the-air update.  

Q: Is there any savings from using MyHyundai Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: Not at this time; however, Hyundai is constantly looking for ways to save its valued customers money on charging in the future.

Q: How do I set-up Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Select the “Menu” from the bottom right of your home screen
  2. Select “Hyundai Pay”
  3. If you do not have a Hyundai Pay account you need to enroll in Hyundai or H-Pay
  4.  If you do have a Hyundai Pay Account, select “Subscriptions”
  5. Beneath the “Charging” heading you will see “In App Charging”
  6.  Select Hyundai Pay for Charging and you will see a screen that says “Activate Charging”
  7.  If the terms and conditions are acceptable, click the box that says “Subscribe”
  8. Click Continue
  9. Next you will be presented with the credit card linked to your Hyundai Pay Account
  10. You are now enrolled in Hyundai Pay for Charging and are ready to charge

Q: How do I enroll into Hyundai’s In-App Charging? 

A: Please follow these steps: 

  1. Select the Hyundai Pay Banner 
  2. From the subscription page, select “Hyundai Pay enrollment”  
  3. if you do not have a Hyundai Pay account you need to enroll in Hyundai or H-Pay 
  4. If you do have a Hyundai Pay Account, select “Subscriptions” 
  5. Beneath the “Charging” click  “Public Charging” and select the available subscription(s).  
  6. Select In-app-charging and you will see a screen that says “Activate Charging” 
  7. If the terms and conditions are acceptable, click the box that says “Subscribe” 
  8. Click Continue 
  9. Next you will be presented with the credit card linked to your Hyundai Pay Account 
  10. You are now enrolled in in-app-charging and are ready to charge

A: The Hyundai Pay account securely stores your credit card to be billed when you charge your vehicle.

A: The in-app-charging account securely stores your credit card to be billed when you charge your vehicle. This credit card will be charged whenever you initiate charging session through the MyHyundai with Bluelink app. 

Q: How do I unenroll from Hyundai Pay for Charging?

A: There is no need to unenroll from the base Hyundai Pay for Charging service. However, if you wish to unenroll from Hyundai Pay,  you need to go to the subscription menu on MyHyundai, select Hyundai Pay, and unenroll from Hyundai Pay.

Q:How can I unenroll from In-App Charging? 

A: There is no need to unenroll from the base In-app-charging service because this option does not require any payment to activate. However, if you wish to unenroll from Hyundai Pay, you need to go to the subscription menu on MyHyundai, select Hyundai Pay, and unenroll from Hyundai Pay. Doing so will automatically unenroll you from the In-app-charging Service.  

Q: How do I find a charging station?

A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Select “Charge” icon from your app home screen.
  2. A map will appear showing EV charging stations around you.
  3. Filter based on charging network, speed, connector type, or distance from your location. You can also save stations as favorites for faster navigation.
  4. Click-on “send-to-car” to push the station location to your car's navigation and drive to the charging station.

A: Please follow these steps: 

  1. Select “Charge” icon from your app home screen. 
  2. Click the “Find a Charging Station” button  
  3. A map will appear showing EV charging stations around you.

Q: How do I start a charging session?

A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Select the “Charge” icon from your app home screen.
  2. If you have navigated to a charging station, select the charging dispenser with the same name or ID number as the one where you are parked.
  3.  Plug in the vehicle (if you have an adapter, plug the adapter into the charger handle first, then plug the adapter into the vehicle).
  4. Hit “start charging” on the app.
  5. Over the next 10-20 seconds the car will execute its handshake with the charger and the charging session will begin.

Q: How can I initiate charging using In-App Charging?

A: Please follow these steps:

OPTION 1:

  1. Open the  MyHyundai  app. 
  2. Select the “Charge” icon from your app home screen which will navigate you to Charge Management screen. 
  3. Select “Find a charging station” CTA. 
  4. Search for a charging station(s). 
  5. Select an available charging station from the charger list. 
  6. View pricing and click on Start Charge.  
  7. Follow the on-screen app instructions to begin the charging session. 
  8. Connect the charging cable into your vehicle’s charging port. 
  9. Over the next 10-20 seconds the car will execute its handshake with the charger and the charging session will begin. 

 

OPTION 2:

  1. Open the MyHyundai with Bluelink app.  
  2. Select the “Charge” icon from your app home screen which will navigate you to Charge Management screen. 
  3. Select Start Charge button. 
  4. Select “YES” on the pop-up that displays - Are you at a public charging station? 
  5. Search for a charging station(s). 
  6. Select an available charging station from the charger list. 
  7. View pricing and click on Start Charge.  
  8. Follow the on-screen app instructions to begin the charging session. 
  9. Connect the charging cable into your vehicle’s charging port. 
  10. Over the next 10-20 seconds the car will execute its handshake with the charger and the charging session will begin. 

Q: Do I need to use an adapter?

A: It depends. Some charging stations offer NACS and/or CCS charging cables, some offer both. If you have a CCS port on your vehicle and you wish to charge at a NACS cable charging station, such as IONNA or Tesla, then yes, you will need to use a NACS adapter. If you have a NACS port on your vehicle and you wish to charge at a CCS charging station, such as EVgo, Electrify America, or IONNA charger, then yes, you will need to use a CCS adapter.

Q: How do I stop a charging session?

A: Most DC fast chargers will require you to select “stop” on the charger itself. Once you have clicked “stop”, the station and vehicle will enable you to remove the handle from the charging inlet. Other chargers such as a Tesla charger will enable you to stop the session from the app and remove the charger from the vehicle. If you are using an adapter, you may need to press unlock on the key fob before removing the charging cable.

Q: How do I stop a charging session?

A: Most DC fast chargers will require you to select “stop” on the charger itself like Electrify America and EVgo stations. Once you have clicked “stop”, the station and vehicle will enable you to remove the handle from the charging inlet. Other chargers such as a Tesla charger will enable you to stop the session from the app or by pressing the button on the handle, and removing the charger from the vehicle. On EVgo, stations you will need to stop the charging session by pressing the button on the charging itself. 

Q: What if my car is not charging?

A: If the car is not charging, please call the charging station operator. There will be a contact number located on the EV charger.

A: There could be multiple reasons your car is not charging. First, please check your connection between the charger and the charge port. Confirm you are at the right charging stall. If the car is still not charging, please call the charging station operator. There will be a contact number located on the EV charger.  

Q: How do I check on my charging session progress?

A: Click into the widget at the bottom of your MyHyundai app home screen or click the “Charge” icon to see the status of the charging session.

Q: Where can I find cost for the charging session?

A: The cost in $/kWh will be presented in the app when you select a charging station. You will see it on the drop-down that shows available plugs.

Q: How will I receive a receipt?

A:  You will receive a receipt in your email associated with your Hyundai Pay account.

A:  The Receipt is available for view and print via the MyHyundai with Bluelink app through Public Charging Stats or via Hyundai Pay. Most receipts will show within 24hrs of charging, but some receipts may take up to 30 days to appear. 

Q: I purchased or leased a new Hyundai EV and chose the ChargePoint out-of home charging credit. Can I use my app to redeem the charging credit??

A:  Not at this time. If you chose the out-of-home charging credit when you purchased or leased your eligible Hyundai vehicle, please use the ChargePoint app to redeem and utilize the charging credit..
