How to Get Started with the Tesla App:

  1. Download the Tesla App from either Google Play App or Apple App store.
  2. Create your account by entering your payment information and Hyundai vehicle model, model year details, and confirm your 2025 IONIQ 5 has a native NACS port.
  3. Set up payment methods in the app, which will handle the charges automatically once your account is ready.

How to Charge at a Tesla Station:

  1. Use the app to find a nearby station and select your stall number (e.g., 1A, 1B, 1C) located at the base of the charging post.
  2. Plug in your vehicle and select “Start Charging” in the app.
  3. When charging is complete, select “Stop Charging” in the app and unplug the connector from your vehicle. If the charging cable is locked, you may need to re-unlock your doors to release it.

Connect the CCS adapter to the charging cable, plug the cable into your vehicle’s charge port, and ensure a secure connection. 2. Why do I need an adapter?

The CCS adapter included with your 2025 IONIQ 5 allows you to access various CCS fast-charging networks, including Electrify America, ChargePoint and EVgo.

3. Why does Tesla need my credit card?

Payment is handled directly through the Tesla App. Ensure your payment method is set up in your account settings; charges will be automatically deducted after the session.

Tesla’s pricing may fluctuate depending on the time of day you charge which helps manages station traffic. 

5.How do I find a Tesla charging station?

By using the Tesla App, ensure that you have selected 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 and “my vehicle has a native NACS inlet” in the Tesla App. Then look up the Tesla Supercharger station near you. Once you have located a Tesla Supercharger station, select “get directions” and the Tesla App will open your mobile phone’s native app to route you via Android Auto or Apple Car Play to that charging station.

In 2025, Hyundai will be implementing a software update to enable you to find and route an available Tesla Supercharger station through your vehicle head unit.  We are in the process of updating the MyHyhundai mobile app, enabling you to locate Tesla Superchargers, start/stop charging session, and pay for charging sessions with your Hpay account.

All Tesla Supercharger Stations displayed to Hyundai IONIQ 5 drivers with a NACS inlet are accessible.

7. Can I reserve a station stall ahead of time to charge?

No, Tesla Supercharger stalls are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

8. I am not charging as quickly as expected at a Tesla Supercharger station. What could be happening?

Charging speed can be affected by factors such as battery temperature, the current load on the station, and extreme weather conditions.

9. How long does charging the 2025 IONIQ 5 at a Tesla Supercharger station take?
