Hyundai is initiating Safety Recall 267 to update the rear brake light software. Our records indicate that your vehicle is affected by this recall.

Our records indicate that your vehicle is affected by this recall. Hyundai has determined that certain 2024 model year Sonata vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment”. Our records indicate that your vehicle is affected by this recall.

What is the Problem?

While braking, the brake lights may flash due to incorrect rear brake light software. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Incorrectly flashing brake lights could confuse trailing vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash and injury.
