Protecting Your Privacy: How to Disconnect Remote Vehicle Services for Domestic Violence Survivors

At Hyundai Motor America (HMA), your safety and privacy are our top priorities. Recent laws in New York, Louisiana, and California empower survivors of domestic violence to quickly and easily disconnect remote vehicle access, ensuring that only authorized individuals can control or track their vehicles.

This article explains the purpose of these laws and provides step-by-step instructions for disconnecting remote vehicle services if you need to protect yourself or your loved ones.

If you are a domestic abuse victim requesting to disconnect remote vehicle access or to obtain a new connected vehicle service account, please immediately contact Hyundai Bluelink Customer Care at (855) 225-8354 to submit a request.

Why Do These Laws Matter?

Remote vehicle technology such as smartphone apps that let you locate, unlock, or start your car can be misused in situations of domestic violence. New state laws require automakers to provide clear, fast, and accessible ways for survivors to disable these features and regain control of their vehicles.
