Learn when and how to change your windshield wiper blades.

As a general rule, you should change your wiper blades every six to 12 months or if you notice a problem with your visibility. If you notice smearing, streaking, chattering or skipping, you probably need to replace or repair your wipers.

  • Other problems to look for:
  • • Visible cracks, tears and missing pieces
  • • Aged blades, which have difficulty conforming to windshield
  • • Broken frame
  • • Metal corrosion

You can go to your local Hyundai dealer to purchase the Hyundai Parts necessary to replace or repair the wiper blades yourself or have the service team do it for you. If you’d prefer to do it yourself, follow the steps below.

NOTE: Use caution and do not allow the wiper arm to fall against the windshield as it may chip or crack the glass.

  • • Step 1: Make sure your vehicle is turned off.
  • • Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade assembly by releasing the clip.
  • • Step 3: Attach the new wiper blade immediately and ensure that it is securely attached. Then place the wiper blade against the windshield. Repeat for the other wiper blade.
  • • Step 4: Test the wiper blades by turning on the wiper switch inside your Hyundai.
